The Lady Lions faced a strong hitting North Gwinnett squad in the MKG on Thursday.  The defense was definitely up to the task with a team total of 29 digs.  11 of those were by sophomore Stella House and 10 for senior Andrea Gonzalez who paced the effort.  The offense was a balanced attack with 4 or more kills from sophomore Landry Hess, junior Claire McEnaney, sophomore Courtlyn Richard and House.  Both sets were close until late in the set when the Golden Lions wore down the Bulldogs and made the plays down the stretch to gain a 25-21,25-17 victory.

The second match featured a local rival Lakeside and the Lions cruised to a comfortable 25-17; 25-13 victory.  Richard once again led the team with 7 kills and Gonzalez and sophomore Landry Hess led the defense.  But this match was decided at the serving line where the Golden Lions had 10 aces in the match, 5 of those by junior Eveliina Campbell.

The team will open its region schedule next Wednesday night at Sprayberry.  They will also face a tough Wheeler squad in the tri-match.
