The volleyball traveled to North Oconee High School on Tuesday for a pair of matches against tough highly ranked opponents.  They dealt with the additional hardship of missing one of their senior captains and libero Andrea Gonzalez who has been the cornerstone of the defense.  The results were not good as the team fell short in two well fought matches.  North Oconee defeated the Lions 25-21,25-22 and Oconee County defeated St. Pius X despite the Lions scoring 4 more points, 25-20,13-25,15-12, in the three set match.

In the opening match the team was led offensively by sophomore Courtlyn Richard who had six kills and four blocks and junior Claire McEnaney who picked up three kills and three blocks.  Senior Tyler Andrews had 7 digs in stepping up to the libero role and sophomore Catherine Morris added 9 assists.  In the second match the team was paced by junior Eveliina Campbell who picked up 12 assists and played great defense with 9 digs.  Richard and sophomore Landry Hess each added 6 kills to lead the offense and sophomore McLean Lyons hit 0.600 off the bench for the match.
