Tuesday night the Golden Lions refused to quit and came up with an unlikely win over Wesleyan. The Wolves won the opening set 25-18 with dominating offense that baffled the Lions blocking. In Set two the team went out to an early lead only to get caught up in a back and forth affair before pulling out the set 25-23 scoring the last 3 points on kills by sophomores
Stella House and
Courtlyn Richard. This set ups a deciding set that was eventually decided in the Lions favor 15-13 on two great kills by junior
Claire McEnaney to the right side of the Wesleyan defense.
In the opener the team played former region rival Druid Hills in what was a comfortable victory. 5 aces and 3 kills by sophomore
Landry Hess and 10 assists from junior
Eveliina Campbell paced the Lion win. The team faces North Paulding, one of this years top 7A teams, on the road on Thursday in a huge match-up for the Lions playoff seeding.
