The varsity volleyball team improved their record to 7-3 with a pair of 2-0 sweeps last night. The team defeated Whitefield Academy 25-16,25-23 in the opening match. Freshman
Landry Hess led the way with 7 kills in the match. Sophomore
Eveliina Campbell added 7 assists with 6 from fellow setter Sophomore
Nevada Rollins to help the cause.  The defense was led by Senior
Sofia Ziran, who had 15 digs in the match. In the second match the team came out strong offensively. Seven kills each from Hess and Freshman
Stella House paced the effort. Campbell's 11 assists and 7 digs led a strong defensive effort. Especially strong was the blocking of the team led by Freshman
Courtlyn Richard, who also hit over .700 in each match. The Golden Lions are next in action on Saturday, where you can see all five St. Pius X volleyball teams in action under one roof at Lakepoint.
