ATLANTA - For many, the main worry Friday night for many wasn't Lakeside. The quick, strong storms that had plagued the week's buildup were poised to strike again. 
But they did not. A little rain sure, but after the Vikings scored on their very first possession to take a 7-0 lead, the Golden Lions went on a tear to end the first half, leading 17-7.

SPX kept their momentum Lakeside (ATL) in the third quarter and built a 24-7 lead, before Lakeside (ATL) stormed back to score 12 unanswered points. But Pius held strong, scoring 10 more points to secure victory. Junior Aiden Francois had 157 all-purpose yards for the game (70 rushing, 87 on kickoff returns). Quarterback Dexter Mosley scored a pair of 13-yard rushing touchdowns, while John Taylor and Teddy Weick ran for touchdowns.

The Golden Lions football team  (2-0) have a bye week September 29, and then begin region play with a home game against Northview (0-1) on Friday, September 5.
