Football 12/22/2025 3:22:00 PM Jack Tchienchou '23 Making Big Waves at Tulane Tulane sophomore is second PiHi alum to play in CFP game All in the Family: The Golden Lion Football Weicks (Marc '20, Teddy '26, Brian & Charles '23) visited Tulane star Jack Tchienchou '23 for their win over Memphis this season. St. Pius X Catholic High School graduate Jack Tchienchou ‘23 became just the second Golden Lion alumnus to play in a College Football Playoff (CFP) game when the #11 Tulane Green Wave visited #6 Ole Miss. Although the Green Wave were beaten 41-10, Tchienchou joined Alabama's Geno Smith '12 who played in three. Despite the loss, Tchienchou had 6 tackles, which tracks with the season he's had. The redshirt sophomore safety's Tulane team won their second straight American Conference title, and Tchienchou was named to the conference first-team. In that conference title clash with North Texas, Tchienchou earned Most Outstanding Player of the Championship Game, where he had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a interception, is the first Tulane player in the same game with all three since Trent Mackey in 2010 against Rice. Credit: Tulane University Earlier this year, members of the Weick family traveled to Memphis to see Jack play in a thrilling 38-32 road win over the Tigers, where Jack had a crucial interception. All three sons of Brian and Amy Weick played football for St. Pius X, middle son Charles was a teammate of Tchienchou's. At PiHi, Tchienchou was thrice named to first-team All-State by both the AJC and GACA.
