The Golden Lions defeated the Central (Carroll) Lions 7-1 in game 2 of the opening round of the GHSA 4A State Playoffs tonight at Spellman Field. 

Starting pitcher Cole Cirone '27 struck out 7 batters and allowed 2 hits in 4 innings of work. Gavin Liu '26 struck out 3 over two innings and Connor Tysver '28 struck out 4 to close the game. 

Andrew Biggers '28 (2-2, 1 R, 1 RBI, 3 BB) and JP Apgar '26 (2-4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR, 1 BB) led the offense.

The win advances the Golden Lions to the second round of the playoffs to face the Blessed Trinity Titans on Wednesday, April 29 and, if necessary, Thursday, April 30 at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell.
