Alumni Playing Professional Baseball
Chandler Simpson ’19 plays outfield for the Tampa Bay Rays. In 2024, he led all of Minor League Baseball in stolen bases (for the 2nd consecutive season) and participated in the MLB All-Star Future Game. He played for the University of Alabama Birmingham (2020-21) and Georgia Tech (2022) before being selected in the 2nd round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Quincy Nieporte ’13 played for the Las Vegas Aviators (Athletics Triple-A Affiliate) in 2024, the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers Triple-A Affiliate) in 2023, and the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers Double-A Affiliate) in 2022, where he was named MVP of the Eastern League. Previously, he played in the Philadelphia Phillies organization (2017-18), with the Schaumburg Boomers in the Frontier League (2019-21) and with the High Point Rockers in the Atlantic League (2021). He played baseball for Tallahassee Community College (2014) and Florida State (2015-17) before being selected in the 26th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Charles Ashe '25 will be playing baseball for Grambling State starting in the fall of 2025.
Taz Butler ’21 is a pitcher for Kansas State University. Taz pitched in 16 games this spring, striking out 24 batters in 26.2 innings. He is playing for the Harwich Mariners in the Cape Cod League this summer. He had a 3.20 ERA in 78.2 innings with 105 strike outs during the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Walters State Community College.
Charlie Capretta '24 is currently in the transfer portal. He played for the Alpharetta Aviators in the Sunbelt Baseball League during the 2025 summer.
Michael Dee '25 will be playing baseball for Georgia Tech starting in the fall of 2025. During the 2025 summer, he played for the Brookhaven Bucks in the Sunbelt Baseball League.
Liam Ebbs '24 plays 1B Lafayette College. In 29 games played this season, he had 20 hits, including 5 doubles and 2 home runs. He played for the Coconut Creek Diamond Ducks in the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League during the 2025 summer, where he was named to the All-Star team.
John Henry Harrison ’21 will be an outfielder for Concord University (WV) this fall. In 2025, John Henry hit .313 with 5 HR and 23 RBI for Motlow State. In 2024, he hit .345 in 14 games for Chattanooga State Community College.
Tate Henderson ’22 is a pitcher at Oglethorpe University. In 2025, Tate had 26 strike outs and 3 saves in 30 innings pitched. He appeared in 13 games for the Stormy Petrels during his sophomore season. Tate played for the Donkeys in the Dunwoody Summer Wood Bat League during the 2024 summer.
Charlie Hendrix '24 is a pitcher at Georgetown University. He played for the Harrisonburg Turks in the Valley Baseball League during the 2025 summer. During the 2024 summer, Charlie played for the Atlanta Crackers in the Sunbelt Baseball League.
Jack Herring ’21 is an outfielder for East Carolina University. He is playing for the Keene SwampBats in the New England Baseball League this summer. He hit .304 with 9 HR and 46 RBI in 89 games for Rollins College over two seasons (2023-24). During the 2024 summer, Jack played for the Greenville Yard Gnomes (NC) in the Coastal Plain League, where he was named to the All-Star team, batted .312 and had a team leading 8 HR and 36 RBI.
Daniel Hong '24 is an outfielder at Berry College. He played for the Birmingham Royal in the Southeast Collegiate League during the 2025 summer.
Charlie Kapp ’22 will be playing for Motlow State in 2026. He played for Andrew College in 2025, where he hit .279 with 2 HR, 15 RBI and 9 SB. Charlie played for the Laurinburg Highland Hooligans (Old North State League) and Greenville Yard Gnomes (Coastal Plain League) during the 2025 summer.
Frankie Maloof ’21 played outfield for Washington and Lee University for four years and graduated in May 2025.
Matt Navarro ’22 is a pitcher for USC Beaufort. In 2025, Matt struck out 32 batters in 31.2 innings pitched. In 2024, he pitched in 15 games for Shorter University. During the 2024 summer, he played for the Dallas Skyline in The Hangout League - Texas.
Xavier Ness ’23 is an outfielder for Piedmont University.
Devin Portee ’22 is an infielder for Dyersburg State Community College. Devin played for the Palm Beach Xtreme in the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League during the 2024 summer.
Agyei Quinichett ’21 will be pitching for North Carolina A&T in 2026. He was previously a pitcher for Kennesaw State University, where his innings were limited for the past two seasons due to injury. In 2023, he pitched in 22 games, striking out 27 batters in 24.2 inning, for KSU.
McKale Stevenson '25 will be a pitcher for Belmont University starting in the fall of 2025.
Will Tippett ’22 plans on transferring to the College of Charleston for the 2026 season. For his first three years, Will was an infielder for the University of South Carolina. He is played for the Woodstock River Bandits in the Valley League during the 2025 summer.
Will Waters ’23 is a catcher for Berry College. Will played for the Birmingham Royal in the Southeast Collegiate League during the 2024 summer season.
Luke Wiltrakis ’23 is a pitcher for the University of Georgia. He missed the 2025 season due to injury. Luke played for the Brookhaven Bucks (Sunbelt Baseball League) during the 2025 summer. Luke pitched in 5 games for the Bulldogs during the 2024 season. During the 2024 summer, Luke played for the Eau Claire Express (Wisc.) in the Northwoods League, where he was 2-0 with 1 save and 26 strikeouts in 16.1 innings pitched.
Trevor Zimmerman ’22 is a pitcher for Centre College. He appeared in six games for the Colonels in 2023.
Alumni Coaching College or Professional Baseball
Griffin Benedict ’05 was the 3rd Base Coach for the Miami Marlins during the 2024 season. Previously he was the Marlins Quality Assurance Coach (2023), the Hitting Coach for the Iowa Cubs (2021-22), Triple-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and a Bullpen Coach for the San Diego Padres (2011-20). Griffin played two years of professional baseball in the Padres organization. He batted .342 during his four years at Georgia Southern University.
Paul Benoit ’15 is the Hitting Coach for the Palm Beach Cardinals (Single-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals). He spent the 2024 season as an Assistant Coach with the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A Affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Previously he was an assistant coach at Towson University (2022-23), Ottawa University (2021) and Post University (2020). Coach Benoit was an assistant middle school coach for two seasons (2018-19) for St. Pius X.
Nick Hogan ’05 is the Director of Facility Operations for the Glacier Range Riders (Pioneer Baseball League). In 2022, Nick was the Assistant General Manager and Field Manager for the Range Riders. Previously he was the head coach at Peachtree Ridge High School (2017-21), head coach at Central Gwinnett High School (2014-16) and assistant coach at Georgia State University (2009-13). Nick also coached several summers in the Sunbelt Baseball League with the Brookhaven Bucks and the Gwinnett Astros.
Jemel Spearman '99 is a scout for the Oakland Athletics. He played in the Chicago Cubs (2002-07) and Washington Nationals (2008-09) organizations, reaching Triple-A in 2008. Jemel was a member of the Georgia Southern University baseball team (2000-02), where he hit .335 over three seasons before being drafted.
