Atlanta, GA - St. Pius X scored four touchdowns on the ground and four in the air as the Golden Lions handedly defeated the Druid Hills Red Devils 55-13 Friday night. With the win, Pius improved to 3-1, 2-0 in the region. The Red Devils fell to 2-2, 1-1.
It took the Golden Lions a few minutes to get the engines going, as they only led 6-0 thanks to Senior
Carter Kandilakis' 57 yard TD run. Everything looked fine tuned in the 2nd quarter, as Pius added on 3 touchdowns, including a 4 yard run by Sophomore
John Taylor, and two TD throws by Senior
Colin Crosby. Druid Hills scored their only two touchdowns of the night in the 2nd, and trailed St. Pius X 27-13 at the half. The second half was all Golden Lions, as Crosby completed two more TD passes to Senior
Ryan Adams, and had two rushing scores, one by Senior
Blake Brown, and the other by Junior
JJ Rogowski.
The Golden Lions finished with 528 yards of total offense. 444 of those were on the ground, led by Sophomore
Aiden Francois' 119 yard night.
Colin Crosby finished 6-8 for 84 yards and the 4 touchdowns. The defense gave up 213 total yards, with 161 on the ground and 52 in the air.
St. Pius X returns to action next Thursday, as they visit Southwest Dekalb for another region game. Kickoff will be at 7:00 PM from Godfrey Stadium.
