St. Pius X - The Golden Lions had to deal with bad weather and a tough Blessed Trinity team on Friday, as St. Pius X fell to the rival Titans 24-0, in the season opener for both schools. The first half was a defensive battle, as neither team was able to find the endzone. Blessed Trinity was able to kick a FG, and both teams went to the locker room with the score 3-0. That was the last time any team would take the field again for some time, as a line of thunderstorms moved in during halftime, and the game was delayed by 90 minutes. Once the game resumed, it was all Blessed Trinity, as they scored 3 unanswered touchdowns in a steady rain.
The Golden Lions fall to 0-1 to start the season, while the Titans start their season at 1-0. The Golden Lions will host Lakeside next Friday for their home opener. Kickoff will be at 7:30 PM at George B. Maloof stadium.
