St. Pius X - The Golden Lions defeated the Lithonia Bulldogs 49-14 Friday night in the last scheduled home game of the regular season. It was a fitting victory as the Class of 2025 was celebrated before the game. St. Piux X improved their record to 7-2 on the season, and improved their region record to 6-1. Lithonia fell to 5-3, 3-3.
The Bulldogs did not get off to the start that they wanted, as their first two possessions ended with a turnover. Senior
Archer Love intercepted a Jamon Coggins pass in the first quarter, which led to a
Cayden DeBose 25 yard touchdown run. The next drive saw
Edward Van Nort recover a Coggins fumble and the Golden Lions cashed that in for a
Teddy Weick 1 yard touchdown run. The remainder of the first half was all Golden Lions, as Senior
Colin Crosby scored on a 12 yard and 5 yard run to give Pius the 28-0 halftime lead.
The second half was also dominated by the Golden Lions.
Carter Kandilakis scored on a 1 yard run, and then
Dexter Mosley broke free for a 41 yard score. Lithonia finally found the endzone in the 4th quarter, scoring on a Albert Gooding 2 yard run and Dean Davis 93 yard kickoff return.
Aidan Brown finished the Pius scoring with a 1 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter.
St. Pius X had 348 yards of total offense. 288 of those yards came on the ground, led by Aldan Brown's 66 yards. QB
Colin Crosby was 5-6 in the air for 60 yards.
The Golden Lions return to action on October 25 as they conclude the regular season at Tucker. Kick off is at 7:30 PM from Adams Stadium.
