ATLANTA - A quartet of Golden Lion student athletes recently completed the IDEALS Leadership School, founded and run by renowned leadership coach Jack Williams. The non-profit program works with high school student athletes to help them develop their leadership and personal life skills to help them become positive role models for their schools. Participants are in the 11th grade, and must be nominated by their school's Athletic Director.

Jack Randa (Football, Basketball), Will Shearer (Football), Aidan Brown (Football, Baseball), and Sofia Pihera (Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer) all graduated from the 8-session program, which met on Sunday evenings at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast.

I've learned how to be a great teammate and friend while maintaining a leadership role on the team and how to communicate on an empathetic level.

Some of the key areas of learning during the sessions included topics of time management, public speaking, emotional intelligence, different definitions of success, and a detailed plan to help lead their teams during their final year of high school.

“I feel much more prepared for my senior seasons and just for life in general. Learning all of these valuable lessons has really prepared me for life on and off the court/field” said 3-sport star Sofia Pihera.

Not to be underestimated, too, the lasting relationships developed with over 40 peer student athletes from the Metro Atlanta area.
