ATLANTA - As the brackets would have it, St. Pius X Catholic High School's powerhouse soccer program moves north to Roswell for a doubleheader against archdiocesan rivals Blessed Trinity Catholic High School for a pair of second round matchups.

The girls team, winners of 9 GHSA titles with the latest coming in 2019, come into the match after a first round 4-0 win over Northside-Columbus that saw juniors Sofia Pihera, Maggie Victor, and Emerson Grasso, as well as senior Emmala Blackmon score goals. In just the fourth game of the season, the Golden Lions fell to Blessed Trinity away 3-0. Kick off for the match is slated for 5;30pm and tickets can be purchased here.

The 12-time state champion boys team, who seek a first title in 10 years, are bolstered right through the middle of the field by junior captain Liam Dixon, and senior captains Alexander Obester and Nico Maio. Obester and Maio will play next year at Sewanee and Lincoln Memorial University, respectively. The Golden Lions, like the girls team, also fell to the Titans in Roswell earlier this season, but only after a scorless draw went to penalty kicks. The same ticket for Thursday's girls game is good for the boys game to follow and can be purchased here.
