The Golden Lions defeated the East Forsyth Broncos 7-2 to advance to the quarterfinals of the GHSA 4A state playoffs. 

Starting pitcher McKale Stevenson '25 (6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 11 SO) earned the victory and struck out his 150th career hitter.

Seven different Golden Lions reached base in the game: 

• Wesley Ingham '25 (single, double)
• Royce Woodson '26 (double, 1 R, 2 RBI) 
• Nolan Newsham '27 (single, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 sacrifice fly)
• Michael Dee '25 (triple, 1 R)
• Charles Ashe '25 (single, 1 RBI)
• Andrew Biggers '28 (2 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB)
• Logan Lucas '25 (1 BB)

The quarterfinals will be held at Spellman Field at the Seaver Family Sports Complex starting May 7th vs. the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes. This will be the 7th time in school history, first since 2021, that the baseball team has advanced to the quarterfinals or better.
