Softball Defeats Sprayberry

The Golden Lions (7-7, 6-3 region) defeated the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets (3-13, 1-8 region) tonight at Spellman Field by a score of 11-1.

Pitcher Norah Mutic '30 pitched a complete game to earn the win (5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 9 SO).

All nine players who batted in the game reached base: Emery Harris '29, Lily Fortner '28, Maya McDaniel '27, Molly McGee '29, Mary Durieux '27, Lyla Kelly '29, Torie Duva '29 and Grace Knoerle '28.

After tonight's game, the team boarded buses to travel to Columbus to play in the Harris County Invitational. Games are on Friday (8:00 PM vs. Northside-Columbus, #12 6A MaxPreps rankings) and Saturday (11:00 AM vs. Ware County, #24 5A MaxPreps rankings, and 1:00 PM vs. Northgate, #3 7A MaxPreps rankings). All games will be played at the Columbus South Commons Softball Complex.
